Proud Oma of Bernadette Mayer, Daniella Mayer, Emily Mayer, Faustina Mayer, Benedict Mayer, Andrew TeBokkel (Amy), Corrina TeBokkel, Janine Reive (Joshua), Elaine TeBokkel, William TeBokkel (Tina), Ulysse Veltkamp, Lèo Veltkamp, Myriam Veltkamp, Èvelyne Veltkamp, James Veltkamp and Anthony Veltkamp. Predeceased by her son-in-law Norbert Mayer.

Following WWII, in the 1950s, Elisabeth immigrated to Canada from Holland. Although growing up, she did not like school very much, Elisabeth became a lifelong learner, perfecting her skills in sewing, knitting, crocheting, ceramics, baking and gardening.
Elisabeth, who never had a driver’s license, was known for riding around town on her blue bike with the white banana seat, often coming home with bags hanging from the handlebars. She volunteered at the church rummage sale for years, using her yardsaling expertise to help price items. Elisabeth didn’t like wasting anything, she recycled and reused long before it became a fad. She was resilient, had a big heart, a great sense of humour and deep caring for all living things. She felt deep compassion for the poor and anyone going through tragedy. Elisabeth touched the lives of many and will be fondly remembered by family, friends and all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St Anthony of Padua, Roman Catholic Church, 749 Russel Street Kincardine, on Friday November 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Father Thomas Manninezhath officiating.
Interment Kincardine Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the St Vincent de Paul Society (Kincardine Conference), St Anthony’s Parish-Kincardine as expressions of sympathy are appreciated by Elisabeth’s family. Note: See donation link below.
