Obituary for Elizabeth "Betty" Ann McLeod

Betty McLeod (née Horton) of Point Clark, formerly of Kincardine, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 in her 78th year.

Beloved wife of Bill McLeod for over 50 years.
Loving mother of Catherine McLeod and Emily Skelly (David).
Gramma of Aoife, Isla and Ronan Skelly, and grandpuppy Ripley.
Predeceased by her parents Charlotte and Philip Horton, brothers Robert (Ida) and Edward (Bonnie) and her mother and father in-law, Henrietta and George McLeod.

Betty was a life long teacher, who taught for the Bruce County Board of Education at WE Thompson until it closed and then at Elgin Market Public School as a Teacher-Librarian until she retired. As a supporter of various competitive pipe bands, Betty travelled across Ontario and Scotland. She loved to golf, sing in the choir and in the car, enjoyed going on adventures with her grandkids and watching her shows with Bill, and Ripley, snuggled in her chair.
Betty was kind and giving, her quiet and thoughtful acts of kindness touched the lives of many. She also had quite a mischievous sense of humour. She will be fondly remembered by family, friends and all who knew her.

Betty’s family would like to thank the staff at Kincardine Hospital for their kindness and care given to Betty and her family during Betty’s final days.
