Obituary for Joan Mary Wood (Woodrow)

Joan Mary Wood (née Woodrow) of Kincardine, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 20th, 2021, in her 94th year.

Beloved wife of Stanley Wood, who predeceased in September 2009.

Lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jennifer Webb (John) and Christine Wood all of Kincardine and Margaret Breen (Kevin) of Florida.

Missed by grandchildren, Natalie (Joe), Rachel (Josh), Vanessa (Mike), Jordan (Rebecca) and Nicholas (Brittany), and great-grandchildren, Blake, Nolan, Levi, Owen, Riley and Mason.

Joan is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her brothers John and Roy Woodrow.

Joan and Stan along with their three daughters emigrated from England in 1963. Joan retired from Ontario Hydro after service in Sudbury and Toronto. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in London, was Queen of the Raspberry Tarts Red Hats and volunteered with the Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop for over 20 years.

A celebration of Joan’s life will take place at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine on Tuesday, August 17th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Ken Craig officiating. Reception to follow at the Walker House.
