Obituary for Linda Young
Linda Ann Young of Owen Sound and formerly of Tiverton, passed away at Chapman House, Owen Sound on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021, at the age of 52.
Beloved wife of Dave Mackereth of Owen Sound, loving mother of Dylan Young of Tiverton and cherished daughter of Doris Young of Tiverton.
Fondly remembered by her siblings, Jim (Rose Marie) Young, Bill (Nancy) Young, Brian (Kathryn) Young all of Tiverton, Roger (Caroline) Young of Port Elgin and June (Laverne) Walker of Fort MacMurray, Alberta.
Missed by her nieces and nephews, Amy (Andrew) Hallman, Corey Young, Ashley (Christian) Droefke, Devin (Rachael) Young, Caitlin Young (Kevin Ribey), Cristina (Colby) Bellan, Brandie (Steve) Bernard, Ryan (Kaitlyn) Young, Samantha (Jon) Hootnick, Jacob Walker, several great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Predeceased by her father, Ernest Young (2018), nephew Aaron and great-niece Blayre.
Linda will be fondly remembered for her bubbly personality and caring soul. She loved the annual family gatherings and spending time with her sister (and best friend) when she visited from Alberta. She enjoyed spending Sundays with her Mom and going to Church. Linda and Dave were married 3 years ago this July and loved each other very dearly. Her son Dylan was her pride and joy. She was very proud and loved watching him grow into the man he has become today. Linda could always be found cleaning; because like her sparkly personality, she loved nothing more than a sparkling clean home. Her infectious smile, excited giggles and beautiful personality will forever be missed by anyone that has ever known her.

Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home on Sunday, April 11th from 2 to 5 p.m. Anyone wishing to attend the visitation must register using the link below or by calling the funeral home at 519-396-2701. All attendees will be screened upon entry to the funeral home, respect physical distancing protocols and wear a mask.
A family graveside service to honour Linda’s life will be held at the Tiverton Cemetery on Monday, April 12th.
