Obituary for Matthew Christopher Steven Watson

Matthew Christopher Steven Watson, of Kincardine, passed away suddenly on December 2nd, 2020 at the young age of 29.

Immensely missed by his parents Pennie-lee (MacKinnon) and Steven Watson.

Loving brother of Briar Watson (Chris Wallach) and Jenna (Ben) Scott.

Cherished uncle to Grant, Leah and Jack and loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Survived by his grandparents Hartley and Pat (Jamieson) Watson.

Predeceased by his grandparents Russell and Wilda (MacDougall) MacKinnon.

Matthew was born March 11th, 1991, in London Ontario and lived in Kincardine all his life. Matt was involved in many sports growing up and loved spending time with his friends. While attending K.D.S.S, Matthew received the Junior Athlete & Knight of the Year honours. After graduating from K.D.S.S., he attended Fanshawe College for the Construction Techniques program. Matt worked as a licensed carpenter for many years with VanRooy Construction and in early 2020 began his Ironworker’s apprenticeship.
Matt loved family, friends and helping anyone in need. Recently he bought a motorcycle and loved touring with his friends. Anyone who knew Matt, knew he had a great sense of humour and kind soul. He had a big personality and people were drawn to him. He was “Uncle Matt” to all the little people in his life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A visitation will be held at Davey-Linklater Funeral Home on Saturday, December 5th, 2020 beginning at 2pm. A private family service will take place on Sunday, December 6th, 2020.
