When I lived in Kincardine I used to stop by to see Doug. He had a lot of cool things. He showed me an old mechanical devise to check the RPM of a motor with a watch. I was impressed that he had an old TRS-80 model III. As a computer programmer that was interesting to see. We looked at the moons of a planet through a pair of binoculars he had mended. He was a really nice man.

really really sorry about doug, we shared accomodation every year at americade for over a decade, as well as our Florida bike week trips before that. Unfortunately I could not get to say goodbye, my wife was in the same predicament and passed away 4 days later. We were members of both clubs, GBMTC and CVMG. I am thankful for all the good memories and some pretty funny ones of Doug and our many trips...keep him in your hearts, he was a great guy. mike downs

Doug was a member of Canadian vintage motorcycle club also. He was a regular at meetings and events and was always a pleasant person who listened more than talk. When he talked ,it was worth listening to and there was meaning and knowledge in his words. He never put anyone on the spot and never said anything negative about anyone . He was a gentle bear and a great companion to all of us . He loved nothing better than to hop on his bike and ride. The members of our local group of the grey bruce CVMG will sorely miss Doug .
